Design Portfolio

As a designer I get to question the Now and the Future

What if an algorithm knows if your hungry before you know it?

What if.. Plastic was never invented?

What if… I want to take my car for a spin but it’s already driving itself?

Algorithms are making more and more decisions for us:

What if…A product could let you experience the limits of the autonomy that you have ?

What if…Everything in our life became a commodity?

What might be the ethical consequences of the products that we design?

As designer I try to give shape to these questions by working from these four pillars
INTERACTIVE PROTOTYPING

INTERACTIVE PROTOTYPING

In my design projects through the integration of technical, conceptual, crafting, and material concerns, I give shape to the abstract questions that I have. I inform my projects by building intuitive empirical knowledge, qualitative studies, the consultation of theories and user involvement.

Interactive prototyping is key to developing an idea to a validated concept. With several ‘hard’ design skills such as  Sketch, Invision, Adobe Suit, basic programming skills I’ve created several interactive prototypes. Using an Arduino and Raspberry Pi I’ve been able to explore physical interaction and prototypes.

USER CENTRED DESIGN

USER CENTRED DESIGN

In my work I try to be the Advocate of the User:
How can we design technology for people? UX Design to me means being the bridge between the user and the technology. The technology is an enabler, that’s why technological advancements are so interesting: they change how we can live in this world.

DESIGN THINKING

DESIGN THINKING

Central to any design is the process by which it was made. I love the interplay of  exploring, analysing and synthesising. Exploring new ideas and taking the leap to make a solution come to life is what makes idea A product Z.

VISION DRIVEN

VISION DRIVEN

What will the future bring? I have constantly looked for the challenge to work with big upcoming (technology) trends: mobility, the influence of algorithms, the ageing population etc. I am always driven by the ‘why’ in a project.
